Loki Season 2 is produced by Marvel Studios, with Eric Martin, who helped to pen half of Loki Season 1 episode, serving as head writer, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead leading the directing team. Natalie Holt will once more create a mesmerizingly beautiful score, and Michael Waldron, who served as the show’s head writer in Season 1, is back for the upcoming season.
In addition to Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and Jonathan Majors, all reprise their characters from the first season. Also, Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki from the film series.
Sadly, showrunner Kate Herron won’t be back. In an interview, Herron said that she had only ever intended to work for one season and that she now needs to focus on other projects that are in the works.
Loki season 2 Star cast is as follows:
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki
- Owen Wilson as Agent Mobius
- Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer
- Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely
- Eugene Cordero as Casey
- Tara Strong as Miss Minutes
- Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15
- Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
Additionally, Rafael Casal and Kate Dickie are cast in unknown roles, and Ke Huy Quan makes an appearance as a Time Variance Authority archivist. Both of them reportedly joined the cast for the second season.
Expected Story Plot
In 2021, Loki will undoubtedly be the focus of the MCU Disney+ shows with the greatest influence on the franchise. This is due to the revelation of He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors. If you are not familiar with the history, He Who Remains is another version of the antagonist Kang the Conqueror. Kang has different personalities throughout time and is typically focused on topping them all. In Avengers: Endgame, Loki is captured by the enigmatic Time Variance Authority (TVA) and their Timekeepers after stealing the Tesseract. Loki is given the option of repairing all the timelines he messed up with the Tesseract or dying at the hands of the TVA.
The second season of Loki from Marvel Studios may finally bring the God of Mischief’s saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to an end. Since 2011’s Thor, Tom Hiddleston has been portraying Loki, and his character has undergone more development than most others in the series. In Phase 4, a different version of Loki investigates the multiverse’s mysteries and attempts to track down the TVA’s enigmatic creator, He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror. Loki season 2 was teased in the post-credits scene of Loki season 1, suggesting he would be a major player in the conflict with Kang in Phase 6 of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After Loki’s massive confrontation with He Who Remains at the conclusion of season 1, he was transferred to a different TVA, which is now independent of the Timekeepers and is governed by some incarnation of Kang. Even though Mobius didn’t recognize Loki, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania” gave us some insightful post-credits scenes that hinted at their upcoming reunion to find out more about Kang. Season 2 will witness Loki’s evolution from a self-absorbed and petty God to someone hell-bent defending the multiverse from Kang.
Marvel’s Loki follows the God of Mischief as he is apprehended by the Time Variance Authority for disrupting the MCU timeline. The chaotic and enigmatic plot of the first season includes several Loki variations. The second season of Loki’s story is being kept a secret. So, these are just some predictions for what could happen in the next season. Hopefully, fans will learn more about Loki when it is released. Fans eagerly want to know what going to happen next and can’t wait anymore!

Bottom Line
Marvel fans are already aware of the significance of Loki season 1 for The Multiverse Saga. According to head writer, Waldron, the upcoming season will carry on the first season’s plot but in a way that feels unique, defies expectations, and explores “new emotional ground” for Loki. The second season would be “a battle for the TVA’s soul.” Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has said that the second season of Loki connects all three phases together. So it’s possible a third season could be greenlit for Phase 6. So, let’s wait for the release to unwrap all the mysteries associated with Loki Season 2. Thanks for reading!
