Manifest Season 5: Will It Happen?

But as of now, Netflix confirmed that Manifest season 4 is the final destination of the Manifest series. The streamer only brought back the Sci-Fi show so fans could finish the story. If it had been up to NBC, the show would have remained in cliffhanger limbo indefinitely. When the show was canceled in the summer of 2021, creator Jeff Rake expressed his disappointment on Twitter:
“That we’ve been shut down in the middle is a gut punch, to say the least. Hoping to find a new home. You the fans deserve an ending to your story. Thanks for the love shown to me, the cast, and the crew. #savemanifest.”’
When Jeff Rake created the series, he knew exactly what story he wanted to tell. His original plan was to tell the story over six seasons, but when Netflix renewed the show for a fourth and final season after NBC canceled it, that plan changed slightly.
Rake condensed the story he planned to tell to adjust the timing while remaining true to the story he set out to tell. Even if Netflix offered the option of a fifth season, it’s unlikely that it would happen because Rake and the writers went into the season knowing it would be the last.
